In a world-first study in Australia scientists discovered gold particles in the leaves, twigs, and bark of certain Eucalyptus trees which they believed were situated on top of gold deposits buried deep under the earth and that the trees appeared to be sucking up gold in their search for moisture. It is estimated that the gold was being sucked up from an astounding 30 metres depth.
